Stampin Up Climbing Orchid Enjoy Today card

Stampin Up Climbing Orchid Enjoy Today card

Sharing my Stampin Up Climbing Orchid Enjoy Today card that I actually created for a recent weekly color challenge.  This has been a set I loved right away, and have not played with it enough so when I saw the colors I knew I could have some cardmaking fun!

It’s just unbelievable how easy this card is to make, simply start with an A2 white card base.  Cut the base at 8.5″ x 5.5″, score and fold in half at 4.25″.  The Pineapple Punch layer is cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, and the top white layer is cut at 5.25″ x 4″.  Stamp the orchid pieces using Blueberry Bushel ink and then die cut the orchid layers and assemble.  Use dimensionals between the orchid layers.

Lay out the flowers on the cardstock to best see where to stamp the sentiment and the leaves, when the stamping is done attach the ribbon and flowers.  Finally, attach the top white layer to the base and add the pearls.  Remember to make your envelope pretty!

How to use the Layering Alphabet edgelits

How to use the Layering Alphabet edgelits

Today I show How to use the Layering Alphabet edgelits that I used to create my teen daughters birthday card.  You may recognize this from a recent color challenge, she had saved lots of inspiration photos for redoing her bedroom and I used one that showcased her color choice!

I was a bit intimidated by the looks of this amazing die cut set at first even though I absolutely knew I would love it!  If you’re like me, don’t worry!  Stampin up has made using this incredibly easy with a “lining up” template die and everything!  I show how this works in the video below!  I also show a sample of the make a difference stamp set inside that I used for the sentiment.  Remember to make the envelope pretty!

One Wild Ride Masculine grunge card

One Wild Ride Masculine grunge card

Hello all, I just wanted to share my really easy One Wild Ride Masculine grunge card today!  There’a a couple simple tips in the video tutorial that I hope you like as well!

The Very Vanilla card base is A2 cut at 8.5″ x 5.5″.  Score and fold in half at 4.25″.  The top Crumb Cake cardstock layer is cut at .25″ x 4″, and the Wood Textures DSP is cut at 1 1/8″ x 4″.  Stamp the Motorcycle image in Night of Navy and the grunge spatter in Crumb Cake ink.  Use the Banner Triple Punch to easily flag the end.  Also flag the end of the Burlap ribbon and the Very Vanilla 1/2″ strip with the stamped sentiment.  Layer these and attach to the card front.

Attach the Night of Navy paper “brad” using the fine tip glue pen, and then cover the “brad with fine tip glue to make it “shiny”.  Remember to stamp your envelope for a finished look!

Bubble Over Fun Background card

Bubble Over Fun Background card

Oh my goodness!  I love this Bubble Over Fun Background card!  Talk about a quick and simple Stampin’ Up! card idea!  No die cuts, no punches, just ink, paper, and a few pretty bling!

Yes, I did cut my sentiment in half so I could make a long horizontal phrase 🙂  No worries though, i can still use it both ways and often a cut like this increases your versatility so much!  Don’t be afraid to experiment!

One quick tip for creating a background like this is to test your colors first to see if you need to stamp off and where that would look great.  Another thing I keep in mind is to stamp larger shapes in the lighter colors and smaller in the darkest.  This way you can get more of a layered look!

Remember to make your envelope pretty!

Stampin’ Up! Southern Serenade Birthday card

Stampin' Up! Southern Serenade Birthday card

I love the simplicity of this Stampin’ Up! Southern Serenade Birthday card.  Today is full of simple cardmaking tips like creating a spatter background using aqua painters and tying a loop knot from 1 piece of ribbon.

For today I wanted to focus on a really quick and easy card with some very simple and fast coloring.  I love all the paper in the Petal Garden DSP paper stack and I found the perfect coordinating frame for the Southern Serenade focal flower!

The spatter background is a look I love and is so easy to create.  When holding the ink pad squeeze the top and the bottom together.  This puts ink in the lid.  Then use an aqua painter pen to pick up the ink and tap the painter over your paper to create the spatter look!
